The Nightmare

So, Alexander had to be rushed to the ER, again. For those of you that don't know, Alexander has been to the ER now 3 time in less than a year.

1. He threw himself down our stairs at home. (0n purpose)
2. He pulled a stocking holder (brass one) down on his head, and needed stitches.

and now, this.

Kurt and I woke to blood curdling screams coming from Alexander at 1am last Sunday. We both rushed to his Side.

When I picked him up to comfort him, I realized that he was almost literally on FIRE. His temp was WAY above normal. He was kicking and thrashing at me, and I realized that he had no idea who I was. He was babbling, completely delirious.

So I didn't even BOTHER taking his temp. I just put him in the truck as fast as I could, and got him to the ER.

His temp was 104.6
At it's highest, it was 105.7...that was before they got it back down to 102.

The docs couldn't find anything wrong with him. Which is bitter-sweet, I guess. If they had found something wrong, it would have been something I could fight.

I still don't know why his temp spiked like that. But it stayed at 102 for 2 days. Then it simply went away.

He's fine now and, like all little kids, is acting like nothing was ever wrong.
Kira and Gabriel are doing great. Kira has a surprise attitude problem, and Gabriel is still having problems with potty training. But other than that, we're all great! :)

I miss my friends, and my family, and if any of you are reading this, COME VISIT ME!!!!!!

Spring has Sprung

Spring is here!
Spring is here!
It's the best time of the year!

It was such a NASTY winter. I've never seen anything like a winter in Michigan. Barely any snow...it was just BITER cold, freezing rain...and did I mention the BITER COLD??? It was just disgusting.

BUT, it was 77 degrees yesterday! I've been driving home from work with the windows down! woohoo! And do you know what I saw when I looked outside this morning?

Overnight, leaves on our trees sprouted, and hundreds of little purple flowers popped out of the ground, covering almost our entire lawn! It was within' hours, like they were just waiting for warm weather!

I'm so happy that winter is FINALLY over! We're planning a trip to the Zoo soon...so look for those pictures in the future! :)

Sometimes, you just have to slow down....

It was a nice, quiet weekend. I had so many good intentions...I was going to get so much done.

but do you know what happened instead?

I did nothing. I hung out with my family, did a little scrapbooking, and that was it. I didn't clean anything (unless it was necessary) and it was wonderful.

And just look at what I accomplished!:

So we're still in the same house. ICK! But we're getting closer to finding someone to take over tenancy for us. So as soon as THAT happens **crosses fingers** we'll be moving out into a cheaper, NICER place! woohoo!

Christmas was INSANE folks. again. I thought it would be scaled down a little here. but it was still crazy. Presents EVERYWHERE. The kids were very pleased with their gifts though. And Gabriel was old enough to understand the whole idea of Santa Clause. He even set out cookies and milk! haha! (Which his Uncle Chase ate later that night) lol

It's funny, because I remember Christmas Eve being really crazy in my house. Everyone freaking out, mom wrapping presents until 4am....just getting everything done before the kids woke up.....(I helped mom, because I was informed about Santa at an early age...yeah...my older sister Rocks. lol)

However, my Christmas Eve was really quiet, and pleasant! I didn't have any wrapping to do, all the presents were ready to be put under the tree. I only had to stuff the stockings and arrange all the gifts! it took me 10 minutes! :) The rest of the night was spent playing video games with my Husband and Brother in Law. Very Nice! Nothing like some XBox360 to finish off Christmas Eve!

Christmas morning went just like I thought it would. Kids woke up at around 8am (what a treat!) and all of them scurried downstairs. Eyes lit up, Big gasps all around, and tears came to my eyes when I looked at my hubby and he was getting all choked up too. Surprisingly, the kids showed AMAZING restraint, and ate their breakfast BEFORE attacking the gifts. (I made Chili Kilies...it's tradition.)

What a wonderful Christmas. It was even a WHITE Christmas! (well...a little) lol

The Let Down

Perhaps getting so excited and signing a lease for my home right away wasn't the best idea.

The house is horrible.

We have a fireplace that we can't use (because it's unlined, and that's a fire hazard)
Our water main just broke the other night, and our basement was filled with sewage from GOD KNOWS how long ago!

It's just too expensive, and not worth the money. Our landlord is a huge Jerk. We figured that we'd give him a chance because he's young, and easy going. we figured he'd be a good landlord.

WRONG.

He doesn't answer our calls, and every time that we need something fixed or handled inside the house, it's a huge "hassle" for him.

So we're getting out of our lease. We'll be moving on the 1st of January. So wish us luck!! and Happy Holiday's everyone! ^_^

That's right! Gabriel has gone a WHOLE week with NO accidents! We're so proud of him! and he's really proud of himself! he can't WAIT to be enrolled in Preschool!

Which is totally awesome, because he needs the interaction with other kids. :)

Diaper Wishes and BBQ dreams

So the whole family is headed to a BBQ today! weee! It will be nice to get out of the house for a little while. I made Kira a special little sundress especially for today!

the kids spent all of yesterday with Grandma and Grandpa Waterstradt. They had so much fun! They came home completely exhausted! Which was great for Kurt and I, because we were exhausted too! We cleaned almost the entire house. and It's nearly livable. check out the pictures! :

It's obviously not completely finished, but it's looking much better. just a few boxes here and there that need to be unpacked and put away.

Disregard the Mustard Yellow walls. they were like that when we moved in, and I'm planning on changing them.

Because I'm potty training Gabriel and Kira, I now find myself saying PeePee and PooPoo A LOT.

and not just at the house.

Everywhere.

Restaurants, grocery stores, to my husband. (yeah, accidentally asked Kurt if he needed to pee pee before we left the house) HAHA

Classic.

Gabriel is Potty trained though. No accidents for 2 days. And, we can leave the house without me worrying about him going 'pee pee' in his pants.

AWESOME.

that's 30 bucks a month, back in our pocket book.

Now if I could just get the other 2 potty trained. lol

Here's the house that we found....very old, but very big....

It was built in 1907!! it's 1500 square feet, has all three bedrooms upstairs, natural wood-burning fireplace with built-in book shelves! I've been running around like crazy getting everything set up for it. (cable, Internet, gas, electric) but it's finally all set up! I can't wait to get the kids in their own rooms again.

we move in this Friday!!!

Suitcases and AeroBed Dreams

well we're here! Finally we're in Michigan. To tell you the truth, the kids were absolutely WONDERFUL the ENTIRE trip. Not one tantrum, not ONE tear! all grins and giggles! (and naps of course) Everyone who was sitting around us LOVED them. (they were really hamming it up, let me tell you!)

It's been 2 days since we arrived, and it's going wonderfully. The kids were a little jet-lagged at first, but they're back to their regular routine. up at 7am, down at 8pm. good stuff, good stuff. :)
you would not believe the amount of toys that they're Grandma and Grandpa Waterstradt have bought for them! there's a garage full of Playschool and Little Tykes stuff!!! literally! a GARAGE full!!! hopefully, we'll have a house to put it all in soon. we're going to take a look at a promising property tomorrow.

Waikiki on a budget = Lame

Don't ever go to Waikiki, it's not worth it!! you know that it cost the kids and I $25 to eat at McDonald's?! can you believe that? who ever heard of a VALUE meal costing $8.75?? or a kids mean costing $6.00???? LAME!

So for the news part of the post:

The kids, Kurt and Myself are all living out of suitcases in a pretty dingy place on the corner of Ala Wai St. and Lewers St. trust me, if I had the time and patience, I would be suing this hotel for FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! it looked SO much nicer on the website! but that's okay, only 48 hours more of this place, then we're all on a plane to greener pastures! well..not green...more of Monotone pastures, but...you know what I mean. lol

The kids are handling this really well. I've given them a little leeway with their attitude problems, mostly because this is all very hard on them. No house, different car (rental van) and they're in and out of their car seats all day long! I'm surprised that they haven't had full on meltdowns! The kicking and screaming kind! But despite all the craziness, they've just sat back and dealt with it. They like living in a place where they aren't expected to clean up after themselves, and they get some kind of pancake and fruit thingy to eat every morning...instead of cereal. They like sleeping in the same room as Mommy and Daddy....they don't have very far to travel to wake us up in the wee hours of the morning to inform us (in whispers) that they just Farted, are proud of it, and they're going back to bed now. (as they scurry back to bed giggling) good times.

I'll be happy when this whole ordeal is over with, and we're finally in Detroit. Where there will be a whole NEW set of problems.

Nothing that KurtMan and Wonder Ashley can't deal with, of course. :)

I totally stole this idea from my friend Kelli Maielli. It's a great idea to update everyone via-blog, and I can't believe I didn't think of it before now!

I'll be writting every Friday. Unless, of course, something amazing happens and I just HAVE to blog it.
